Etched Victorian Locket with Emerald and White Stones on Original Chain - Marked
|
This piece is Victoriana charm and elegance at it's best. A beautifully engraved design on the cover of this rolled gold locket is embellished with a delightful combination of white and grass green paste stones resembling sparkling little diamonds and emeralds. The inside of this locket gets even more interesting as it is marked W. N. Co. on the picture frames, which hold original photos, appearing to be daguerrotypes, of a handsome Victorian couple. This dates this locket as far back as the mid 1800's to late 1800's. The locket face, measuring 1-1/8" round is strung on it's original 12 karat gold filled chain, marked "1/20 12K GF", and measuring 24-1/2" long. This is an exciting and very complete piece of Americana history.

Sterling Bar Pin with Guilloche Enameling & Paste |
This circa 1920's guilloche enameled bar pin is loaded with intricate detail. Working in a tiny space, this pin has been expertly enameled and
hand painted over. Set into the Sterling frame are five little sparkling and clear single cut crystals. Gorgeous and ever so feminine details make this a lovely piece. There is, unfortunately, a tiny crack in the enameling on one side of the bow tie. The price has been adjusted accordingly. This measures 2 1/2" long by 1/8" wide at it's widest point. This is an unmarked, but tested positive for, Sterling. Closes with an old safety C-clasp and has the maker's mark "LLCO" ? stamped on the clasp. Maybe an old Attleboro company? We cannot tell.

Small Gold-Fill Victorian Six Pointed Star Locket |
Circa 1900, this cute little rolled gold locket has a dazzling six-pointed star decorating it's cover. Layers of crystals glimmer in the light making this adorable little locket a keeper…literally. It opens to reveal two unmarked picture compartments that have lost their security frames. One or two of the stones may have been replaced at one time because they have a little more relief to them than others, but they do look like old stones, while a few are darkening with age.
Hhhhmmm. Adorable. Measures 3/4" round and is unmarked.

Gutta Percha Mourning Pendant on French Jet Beaded Necklace |
This is a really neat old Victorian gutta percha and French jet mourning necklace. Circa 1860's-1870's, this necklace was born around the same time the
Civil War was happening on our own soil. Wow…what a neat piece of history! And gutta percha was really only used to make jewelry for a short period of time during this part of the Victorian period. It is a finite, rare, and collectable material, made from the sap of the Malayan tree. A sort of four-pointed star of gutta percha is mounted on a gutta percha frame, embellished with matte French jet round beads. This pendant is strung on a chain of shiny jet glass beads of all different shapes, sizes and cuts. Interesting, cool and collectable. Measures 18 1/2" long...pendant measures 2" long by 1 1/4" wide.
